All skills are optional

It would be nice if you could pick and chose from a really comprehensive list of skills which to exclude from your game altogether, and which to simply block players from, at present... (There has been a lot of suggested skills in the companions, including quite a few unique ones in Arms Companion, some of which are making others like them more or less redudant)

The skills that you, as individual GM, chose to work with, more or less define your setting as a 'room of possibilities'.
For example, some would include a mystical skill such as Dowsing, and some exclude it. Some would not exclude it altogether, but just block players from chosing it, until they've had the right kind of mystical training...
Also, the individual skill costs should not be strictly defined by the system, but optionally possible to set by the GM.
Ideally, all of these settings should be tied to individual characters, so that the GM can let players shape uniquely talented characters, according to the GMs own 'profession' systems. [HARPs simple skill system is suggestive of the cost assignment system I'm presently using, allowing for a lot of player choice in setting up the skill costs for his unique character, along with some constraints, based on the 'profession'/learning style the player chooses for his character - point being, that to accomodate every single innovative GM out there, FG just needs to keep track of the score, not decide what it should be, as anything more than a default suggestion]
